November Food Reviews

Trader Joes carries GF and vegan snickerdoodles that are soft and idea for making your own ice cream sandwiches. I can't make the box last longer than a week, they are oh so good! Try them on your friends, they won't believe you that they are Gluten Free.

I've tried rice ice cream many times and I've decided that it doesnt do it for me. It's not like "real" ice cream. Coconut ice cream and tofu ice cream have the "right" creamy consistency. Good bye rice dream. HELLO Coconut Bliss and Toffuti.

It can't get much easier to make amazing pizza crust then using Bob's Red Mill mix. Mix, let rise then bake. Prep your toppings then throw back in the oven. My favorite is garlic chicken pizza with fresh kalamata olives, mushrooms and onions.

Another favorite snack of mine- Blue Diamond hazelnut nut-thins. I've picked them up at Bel Air in Sacramento and at Whole Foods. I like them because they don't taste GF.

This bag of popped potato chips from Trader Joes and their brand of goat creamy cheese lasted just 2 days. The chips were light and airy with some crunch to them, which I dunked in the tangy cheese. WOW-IE!

For a Halloween party I made Arrowhead mills box mix brownies. They were just ok. My problem with them is that they were cake-like. I much prefer brownies that are fudgey.

The find of the month- GF Oreos!!! Kinni-toos dunked in almond milk = flashbacks to my childhood. I found both at Whole Foods.

Happy eating and discovering new, super yummy foods to eat!!!

Cereal Review

The frustrating part of eating gluten free is that some brands make expensive, disgusting food. I've eaten other Glutino brand products, but this cereal is like abrasive cardboard. The part that irritated me the most was paying $6 for the box, making it too expensive to toss.

I LOVE Nature's Path Organic Crunchy Maple Sunrise cereal. Wowzers! I am still in disbelief that it's GF, even though I've reread the label numerous times. It was only $4 at Berkeley Bowl in California.

Another really yummy cereal is Trader Joe's brand of granola. I tend to eat it too often, so I get burnt out, that's how good it is.
